In a discussion about Smoker vs Vergo I got my eyes on very specific information that easily ends some debate people had lately in this Forum.

This page alone is enough to end the debate of Vergo > Smoker and Kairoseki not being indestructible.

I would also say that ends the debate about Zoro needing to cut Kairoseki as next step or the last step since Vergo did it easily with his Ryou against Smoker's own Ryou.
It should also end the debate about Ryou being such an advanced technique. It is nothing more than a different application of armament, simply using it externally of your body(aka weapons).

And if you need a bigger proof about the 2 first and main topics of this thread, here it is:

"Ah but Smoker only did that because he was after Law's heart"

And why he would do that if he wouldn't lose to Vergo? Oh yes, he would and he knew it. Vergo himself stated to have better haki and we know very well that haki rules One Piece.

Edit:

Since it seems I was wrong thinking Smoker's weapon was half built of Kairoseki I will drop this.

If Kairoseki were indestructible would people be able to change it shape into chains? Weaken it force so DF user are not useless and can work hard?

IIRC, only the tip of the Jitte is made of Seastone: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Nanashaku_Jitte

It’s interesting he coats his tip if it’s made of seastone since he shouldn’t have to. Maybe it takes a certain level to master a purposeful flow which Smoker doesn’t have

Or maybe this is beside the point and Oda doesn’t really care.

Doesn't matter the metal coating it with haki makes it stronger.

1. Only the tip of the Jutte was seastone. The rest is normal and has been broken by Boa in the past.

2. Because Smoker would rather die than be indebted to a pirate. He let himself get his ass kicked because of his honor not because he couldn’t beat Vergo. Vergo himeself said that. Seems like you’re the one who forgot. He even said Smoker was fighting differently…

Can’t post images the quote is on page 8:
“Why do you insist on using your powers? It’s unlike you to fight that way Smoker.”
Where in that line he says he could beat Vergo and he got his ass kicked by his honor?

But we have the line where Vergo says his haki is superior than Smoker.

It shows that Smoker was not fighting to win but merely to get Laws heart back.

Hence Vergos “So that was what this was all about?” Vergo realized Smoker never intended to fight to defeat Vergo, he was simply regaining Laws heart because if he fought Vergo, won, and Vergo killed law in a final ditch effort Smoker would be unable to face his men in dishonor.

People keep bringing up Vergo as strong but:

He fought a weakened version of Sanji who was already very beat up, yet Vergo was incapable of stopping Sanji from saving the marines

He fought a smoker who was just trying to distract him while he stole Laws heart to repay a debt

He never won an actual fight.
