People arguing about “monster trio” like it was ever something that actually mattered and is a rule, instead of acknowledging that it was more a fan made criteria than anything serious in the story. Jinbe right now is definitely stronger than Sanji and probably Zoro, but we’re going to pretend like he isn’t already a top dog on that ship. Fanboy insecurity never ceases to amaze me.
Monster trio was a term to describe the immense difference between Luffy, Zoro and Sanji and the rest of the crew, especially in comparison to the weak trio.
For Jinbe that applies as well, only that Luffy has moved even beyond monster and is god level now, so that is the reason why new monster trio includes Jinbe.

Oden really deserve a better fight against Kaido, at most a longer battle, no one would judge Oda if he would make the battle at least 2-3chapters. The sad part, the chance is gone to every see Oden in action, he only had his own flashback and he was a good character(my opinion) with a great power, he really deserve better threatment rather what happen in chapter 970. Imagine even fodder beast pirates getting longer fight panels then our Goat Oden...
Still little disappointed how this all end in chapter 970 and this cover even make it more sad. At least he get a honor death in the end and even take the respect of Kaido, but men chapter 970 could be far better..
If you consider that Luffy should be in a tier in itself, that means there is no « monster trio » anymore.
There is either a « monster quartet » or « monster trio » without either Jinbe or Sanji or Zoro.
Furthermore, « the monster trio » was never about their proximity in strength but just designing the three strongest strawhats. For example even if the gap between Usopp, Nami and Chopper grow there will remain the « weak trio ».
