The Korean leaker sometimes added his own interpretations too.

Wasn't he insisting that the devil fruit with a new name is not Luffy's?

Nah his entire character arc started from him questioning whether his existence is right, which ended with him being proven wrong by Luffy, Whitebeard and his other Nakama risking their lives to save him. Him crying while on the execution platform looking at the War and how far his "family" goes to fight for his life, realizing that they value his existence is his character coming full circle in retrospect.

Ace & Marineford was Oda near his best in terms of character writing & story telling. Sabo on the other hand was interesting in the ASL flashback with his own dilemna & character arc, but he ended up in Dressrosa as a cheap copy of what Ace was in Alabasta. His entire dilemna about the state of the world & his noble family's expectations were wrapped up in one flashback and him not learning about the 2nd Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates and realizing that it was his own brother much earlier was pure PIS. His existence now, essentially invalidates Ace's death & Luffy's sad screams about how he only has one brother left in Marineford.

Personally, I think the manga would be better off if Sabo just stayed dead from the ASL flashback... but here we are.
I can see where you’re coming from but as I said, everything felt rushed and forced. His whole character was driven by a newly revealed info — being Roger’s son, “the son of the devil”. Before all of this, Ace was just a bland gary stu similar to Sabo now I guess but at least Sabo has a concrete goal unlike Ace again. Ace wants WB to be pirate king too like what else are we supposed to look forward for this guy. All of his actions are also because of his pride and impulse and everyone payed the price for this whiny character. He was such a golden child for WB, I ended up questioning why everyone had to sacrifice their lives for someone who refuses to seek help in dealing with BB, and then got tricked by a simple trash talk from Akainu. All of those lives and effort wasted, he saw his family dying in front of his eyes and he invalidated their lives and even his own values by doing that. What was the point of all that sob story and feeling validated when you get everybody you feel thankful for get killed for nothing?
