We also use miles, yards, feet, inches, gallons, quarts, pints, pounds. I get it the metric system is much easier and more logical being based off squares of 10 but most Americans don't see it the same way you do because we're not changing anything from metric to our system, the systems we use were in place before most of us were born and are second nature to us, while not the most efficient it is simple enough for us that there is no reason to change it, no reason to try and change what works just fine.
