Nah, you dislike changes to the source material—fair enough, so do I. But all adaptions make changes that the author did not intend for and if you wanna be true to Tolkien's spirit, you should hate PJ's LOTRs, even Christopher Tolkien despised them.

Fair point. I don't hate PJ's trilogy. One of my favorite movies, I do dislike some things but overall I enjoy it. Forcing skin/cultural changes or whatever term should be used for this won't decrease racism or any other shit in that regard.


Do you know what Disney did? It's not as extreme as what they did but the situation kinda same. They did Cinderella and for some reason, they thought making the fairy a black trans guy will be okay.

But he definitely knows her strengths. When we started Water 7 there was the part where Nami, Usopp, and Luffy go and exchange the gold from Skypeia into Berries. When he first saw the building he said he really hoped that they brought Nami in there with them. Was quite relieved when she was and got the crew more money.

He was a big fan of that scene yea, definitely a big highlight for me as well

He's chill with Usopp, likes the antics that he gets into with Luffy and Chopper. Laughs at a lot of his scenes. I think he'll get hype at Luffy vs Usopp + the Sogeking scenes.

Considering the length of One Piece, and the size of the fandom, most topics about the series have divided the community in two groups.

Think about it.

Admirals vs Yonkous.

Zoro vs Sanji.

Mihawk vs Shanks.

Comedy vs Tension.

Plot / Lore vs Fights.

It really feels like any decision Oda makes going forward, he will always have 50% of the fanbase saying it's peak fiction and 50% saying it's complete trash.

This is only gonna get worse now in the Final Saga, because before the "losing" side could always have some and believe that in the future it would be different, or that there was gonna have another arc that would focus on what you like.

But from now on, Oda's decisions are final, so one way or the other, Oda is gonna be "choosing" sides in all these topics.

And i'm here to watch the fandom burn itself to the ground .
