Agree with the OP. Luffy & cia cant stay in Wano protecting the country forever, so Momo want to prove that he and the scabbards could be the protectors of Wano.


Also like the ideia of Yamato having to chose if she want to go with the SH or if she want to stay in Wano and help protect the country, basically if she keep fighting Ryo with Momo & Cia is a confirmation that she wont join the crew.
