No way in hell Shanks used ordinary CoC.

Luffy showed a tiny bit of this hax and had Kaido shitting himself.

Yeah, Shanks definitely used a different CoC attack or skill.

With Luffy, it was just his CoC effecting the environment as he grew stronger thanks to obtaining awakening.

While Shanks seem to use some type of range CoC attack. It affected GB body and knocked him out of his tree form, mostly.

I came up with a theory back during WCI that one type of advanced CoC allows the user to effect their environment and cancel out DF power or awakening in a certain range. Think of it as a CoC version of DF awakening.
