Marineford was peak for Admirals. I didn't think so at the time, but it was.
Akainu, Aokiji, and Kizaru being guided by a reasonable, calm, powerful tactician like Sengoku was just a disgustingly overpowering force. Fujitora doesn't give a shit about following orders, and neither does Green Bull. The current Marines are nowhere near what they were pre-time-skip, and I doubt Vegapunk is on their side, either.
The Admirals will still have hype moments, but now that Luffy is a legitimate Yonkou, it's all about the Pirates. This is why wanking over power-scaling is dumb to me.
Be fans of the Admirals, while understanding they're always going to lose in the end. Akainu will end up being under Luffy. It's just how the story works. If you don't want that, read a tragedy: kids watch this shit on TV, it's not Berserk.
I love Law to pieces, but I know he'll never get the narrative focus Luffy does.
