With Buggy giving the Marines bounties, Oda seems to be paying homage to real life Pirate Jean Lafitte who put a bounty on a US Governor’s head:

“In the short years after the war Lafitte still represented great threat to the US economy, and soon after Louisiana Governor, William C. C. Claiborne put a price of $500 for Jean Lafitte's head. In response Lafitte put a bounty on the Governor's head (reports say that it was either for $1500 or $5000), but no one managed to collect that reward.”

This could further indicate that Buggy will give the Marines grossly inflated bounties to make their lives even more hellacious right now lol. Any monkey should realize that giving Marines lower bounties than Pirates will pretty much garner no reaction from bounty hunters lol. Since a Marines’ head should be harder to collect than most Pirates given how many marines there are and the massive reach of the government and such.

So we may see retardedly high Marine bounties, especially since general consensus is that Buggy can’t afford to place extremely high bounties, Oda may be looking to flip the script lol.

Also, this shows how big of a sham the Yonko system is. They exist solely for existing, not out of any particular need. The fact that WG designated Buggy as the organization's leader means no one can be a Yonko without the WG's permission. :milaugh:

@nik87 Mihawk made it possible for a guy he easily beat to be a Yonko just by association, lmao! :gokulaugh:

And we are supposed to believe he is Vista level? :suresure:
