Chapter Discussion One Piece - Chapter 977 : "The Party Won't Start Now"

Great chapter!
Luffy looks like a badass in that captain’s coat. Hopefully after he beats Kaido, it becomes a regular thing for him. Time for him to start walking around like that permanently. He looks to damn good like that not to.
The scene with everybody and Jinbe was wholesome as hell, it was especially touching to see Luffy and Nami sprint over to him and hug him, as they’re obviously the closest to him. Excellent to see everyone happy and together again, and chill enough to have a drink. Also cool of Luffy to postpone the heavy celebrations for Jinbe’s arrival until after he beats Kaido’s ass.
Speaking of Jinbe, that portrayal! This man blocked the current Fleet Admiral’s magma fist, ranked an attack from an enraged, albeit weakened, Yonko, and then blasted said Yonko of his new ship, and people thought he wouldn’t be a top dog? M3 truthers thought he wouldn’t be in it (though I don’t think it’s a thing anyway, but still)? And it took one chapter for Oda to deconstruct the hell out of that and show again that the fanmade “monster trio” doesn’t really matter and Jinbe is definitely stronger than Sanji.
By the way, I really, really like Robin’s design. The kimono and jacket look really good on her, as foes the ribbon she tied her hair in. She looked badass as hell in the panel where she stomped the guy into smithereens. Both she and Nami look great. Can’t wait to see her in action! And Nami too! Also Nami’s comment, along with Chopper and Usopp, regarding everyone else’s performance had me chuckling.
Law is hilarious, scrambling to form a plan while calling Luffy and Kid idiots because they’re just going to press ahead. It’s funny, he’s similar to Whitebeard in that regard: scolding people for being fools but liking them (Luffy) despite and because of it. Kid talking about how he’s going to stick Kaido’s head on his ship and show it off was hilarious.
Kaido having a son is unexpected as hell. I know OP takes flak for performance of women, but for dudes like Garp, Whitebeard (allegedly), and Kaido to have kids, like those are some strong ass women. Anyway, looking forward to seeing his reveal, as well as the other Tobbi Roppo. Glad that we’re in the action now, and hoping we get right to it on Onigashima. These next few chapters are going to be great.

You have to remember we're talking about a force consisting of Luffy (now stronger than YC1). Law, Kidd, Zoro, Killer, Sanji, Heat, Jinbe, 8 of the scabbards, Sicilian, Hyogoro - that's more than enough if the captains and ZSJ get powerups/master RS and Enma
