Ah, character development in the midst of the 100 other much more relevant things to resolve during the finale (this was a huge success during Onigashima btw!) and hogging meaningful panel time from rest of the crew, which has already been lacking for most of Post TS.

Oda shouldn't have wasted all these panels on Yamato if she was gonna stay in Wano anyway, even if she joins later it's just a tease, as much as I din't like her as a character. It's not a theory or essay that people wrote she will join, she was literally spamming every now and then that she will join Luffy, only to go "jk first will travel around Wano then later to the sea", later when? Final arc? Lol.

It just sucks to be feeling so disappointed about something you were sincerely excited about. I wish I could've loved Wano, but instead I'm at an all-time low with my faith in Oda's ability to properly wrap this story up. I really hope things will get better now that we finally left Wano, but it's not like the writer will change too.

my typical response in prev arc would be you are only disappointed due to your expectations
but this arc I have to admit
a lot of these were created by oda himself.

e.g dont have yamato talk about joining the crew for the entirety of the arc to just turn it on its head in a single chapter.
dont talk about zoro's lineage if you aren't going to address it
dont bring in zunesha if it isnt going to do anything. ...
dont have big mom vow to not die if she really might have met her end.

in short dont create empty plotlines that will leave fans with expectations of some destination that will never be reached.

The whole Kurozumis drama is my first genuine experience witnessing how a community's hatred of things ( Wano, Kozuki,Oda)etc make them fall for exteme interpretations when it was obviously intended to just be pun, you can call it distasteful but deliberately going for exteme interpretations and then proceed to call Orochis action justifiable is very reactionary and cringe. If you want to talk about wasted panels, we had same samurai flashbacks over and over again. We had Momo crying in various scenes over and over again. They could also be put to better use, but weren’t.

I am just glad that more panels won't used for Yamato. It's simple.
