General & Others Are the Yonko territories a stretch ?

Back in W7 Garp mentioned that the Yonko rule in the NW like emperos with their territories.

As of now where are these territories exactly ? IIRC it goes something like this.

BM - WCI, FI after WB's death

Kaido - Wano, a winter island X-Drake visited before TS

WB - Sphinx, an island brownbeard took over before being defeated by Hawkins, FI before his death

Shanks - unknown

Is this setup of "ruling as emperos" overrated ? Guys like Croco or Mingo did the "same" in a lesser scale and could be taken out by either WG or another fellow pirate pretty easily.

WG iirc "controls" around 170 countries. How exactly someone is an "emperor" by controling 2-3-4 somewhat "closed or isolated" islands

I wouldn’t say they’re understated I think it’s clear that emperors have much larger territories than we see based on how “savage” the sea became and how “Blackbeard scooped up territory easily” after whitebeards death

Yonko have territories in New world, the only part of seas that WG doesn't own all of it.

Dressrosa is the only known island in NW under WG jurisdiction( including New Marineford been build over the 2 years time-skip) and Doffy have all the backup of the Marines and WG on Dressrosa
Still he fears at the thought of angering Kaido a Yonko.

So the difference is Yonko has their territories in NW( toughest sea) and WG has their rule on other side of grandline( paradise)

Thing is as of now Luffy who is still a kid even if he is powerful seems like he "controls" more territories than the old Yonko who supposedly reign over the sea for decades and thats why i think it feels underwhelming. And besides DR/Wano non of the islands we know/have seen so far are so important in the overall world that would make a difference for someone to "control it"

They have plenty more territories. Ofcourse not as many as world government but still probably plenty island in there jurisdiction. Oda just jumps into the important islands

Luffy already has 3 if not 4 or more territories… I dont think its a stretch to assume that the other Yonko could muster up some land

The emperor with the most territories is Luffy. The islands that he has saved are basically his since they do whatever he says. It's quite insane how powerful Luffy's reach is. Truly the chosen one.

Totland was actually shown to be pretty expansive. It’s really just the territories of the rest that we really don’t see much of or that get expanded on. Hopefully we see more of Shanks & Blackbeard down the line. I believe Totland is currently getting scooped up as well.

That's how it works actually. Yonko rules certain parts while Marines supposed to check on each single islands cuz that's their jobs.

You just need one country to be consider as Emperor. That's said Doflamingo was kind of an Emperor.

The difference is that Yonko doesn't follow any rules while Doflamingo had to follow WG rules. That's is clear when Fujitora says that after discovering the truth about Dressrosa he should take out Doflamingo himself but he wanted pirates to do it so he had better arguments to demolish Shichibukai system.

One piece is the farthest from logically strategic as you can get.

Weve seen big mom and kaidos home bases. Both of them have 100% soldier concentration and that makes no sense.

If kaido has other territories outside of wano, who the fuck is protecting it and what importance does the territory have? Calamities, tobi roppo, numbers, gifters, all of them are in wano so who the hell protects his territory? Same with big mom.

The way oda split up the home bases (sweet commanders have land, Calamities have land) is the way the territories should be split.

All commanders, except right hand men, should control surrounding islands and defend them. Like in order to even step foot in wano you would have to fight either jack or queen and at least 2 tobi roppo.

Luffy and Buggy simply fucked up what it means to be an Emperor.

Blackbeard spent like a year conquering all of Whitebeard's territories he could, before getting declared Emperor. If it was just 2-3 Islands, it wouldn't be the case.

We simply don't know how many territories they have that is all. There are probably hundreds to thousands of islands in the NW.
