I read the manga, so I know what happens and all(though can't remember everything properly). It's definitely a good watch(I watched 10 episodes did not wait for next after that...and this is more of a binge-worthy series I would say). I don't know why it was not popular tbh..probably availability and promotion issues maybe. It's nothing game changer...but pretty good.

I'd rate it 9 even if it ends in a bad way

if it ends in a good way then nothing less then 10
