Luffy was never the underdog.

THe first 10 volumes he trashes veteran pirates in the sea, the first enemy is a giant Lor D Coast.
Whoever says that Luffy is an underdog has clearly poor understanding of One Piece.
Until Crocodile he never lost a fight, and until Aokiji he never actually lost a fight to the end.

exactly luffy was already strong enough to break through bedrock. Physical strength wise luffy can already compete with the Shichibukai and admirals but the only thing he lack was haki if he had that smoker would've been defeated back in lougetown.

Luffy then arrives in Wano and gets underestimated by practically everyone including Batman wahahahahahahh
You would think that after beating Kaido he will be feared by everyone including Blackbeard (he beat the unbeatable right ?) but not at all, he will be underestimated by the fodderest of fodder in BB crew.

Oda and his inconsistent writng...he still wants to keep Luffy as an underdog...and he will make Luffy job to random ass fodders to further make him look like a underdog...he could have simply have Luffy opponent very strong if he wants to Luffy look underdog...I don't know what's wrong with Luffy getting equal portrayal in terms of other top tiers at this point....it's not like being equal doesn't guarantee you win...both equals had 11 day fight to decide the winner (Akainu vs Aokiji)...

My point is that Luffy doesn't look the part of being world strongest. Even Roger was kinda a giant too and had muscles. Luffy is small and not very muscular. Luffy smiles and is friendly and not very controlling. In a sense he doesn't appear very dangerous but he is.

I understood your point and I'm saying it doesn't make sense when you have the likes of Kaido, BM and WB hyping Shanks or Mihawk who are dwarfs in comparison to them which means they know that size doesn't matter but it matters when it is Luffy somehow !
Why didn't BM take him seriously when she knew he beat Doflamingo ?
Why didn't Kaido take him seriously when he knows he beat Katakuri ? Hell why didn't Queen take him seriously ?

Also,it would be bad to have Luffy just arrive and not strong to beat YC level fighters.I liked Doffy,Cracker and Katakuri fights.Losing 4 times against the strongest pirate makes sense.Those PU had a built up to them,even COC.The only twist was the nika awakening pu.I only want Luffy to dominate Akainu.He should struggle vs BB and Imu.
