The narrator introduced Kaido as being captured several times so yeah they mentioned it.

Coby is known as a hero what his role in that though is still unknown.

Coby was about to be neg diff'd of Boa before Blackbeard saved him lol. Besides Smoker clashed with Hancock pre timeskip anyway.

Smoker has clashed with Law, Doflamingo and Luffy.

Haki doesn't mean you can beat someone with a devil fruit.

Boa's sisters had haki but Luffy beat them. Coby hasn't shown any speed feats to put him above MF Luffy.

Not really, there's already a lot of marines that fufill the role of "revolutionary" marine.

Sengoku/x-drake/coby.

Smoker is just one more of them. He could have been a roger/garp paralel but he's way too weak so that can't happen anymore.
