Your comment made me think about something, this will hurt Blackbeard's portrayal to some degree since a lot of people wanted a showcase of his power as a Yonko but if Oda wants to save it for Luffy or whoever then I really just came up with something even if it's underwhelming.
What if Pudding is nearby with Kuzan and she will just read the Poneglyph with the help of her Third Eye feature and BB will basically stop fighting Law at some point and say: "I got what I wanted, it was nice getting to fight you here Trafalgar!".
Law is confused as fuck and BB goes away because Pudding just read Law's Poneglyph and it's a done deal.

However, this would be bad writing by oda - we don't know about RP incident not about God Valley much and oda making BB back away regardless of any reason would means he missed out on this opportunity to throw light and connect these plots

I really liked the moment when Augur asked BB if they should retreat BB laughed at it and continue the fight.
