I saw someone post Back To The Future as a hint much earlier on, I think it was a Redon post but can't remember? Maybe a flashback?
Egghead is meant to be 500 years ahead of the current time, the most futuristic city/island and its blatantly obvious that it is ofc now, but I'm assuming that its like that due to Vegapunk ofc, who was said to be the one with intellect 500 years ahead of everyone else before?
Since Sanji apparently cracks his leg again or breaks it, then Oda deliberately trying to force another parallel to Punk Hazard when its not needed? Theres already plenty to connect this arc to Punk Hazard, especially the titular Vegapunk themselves now ofc!
This Sanji Jinbei thing makes me wonder if theres some deeper history with the Germa and Fishmen or something and that its not just simply a running gag Oda is doing between them? Probably not though, since Oda just loves recycling the same shit constantly.
