I definitely think Zoro could've been an aspiring bounty hunter and top swordsman

Would've added another layer to his character

Maybe he's trying to make money for his village (or something else) while also on a journey to become the WSS

Honestly makes more sense since he'd have a much better parallel with Mihawk. He'd ACTUALLY hunt Pirates just like Mihawk used to hunt Marines

I still think he's almost perfect for the RHM OR Captain role but that's just my opinion

I think a huge problem was when he essentially "merged" his aspirations with Luffy's dream.

I thought he was much better suited to being somewhat more selfish than he is now. And that would give a lot more power to the moments that he actually chooses to prioritize Luffy or the crew, because it would be more rare
