I feel Devil fruits have to be something light related if we do get some mildly scientific explanation instead of maybe revealing actual devils or spirit powers, the Vegapunk holograms, light interacting gloves and Blackbeard's fruit being Darkness and the ultimate counter feels like it should point that way.
