No he doesn't, at least not in the asian side as he knows that Russia doesn't have the power to stop China India and Middle East from gaining control over the Caucasuses and Central Asia , nor can they "Regain" most of East Europe

He just wants Ukraine and Belarus

Idk about Putin. From what we know Russians want to capture territory, but no idea why exactly. Maybe Russians who are here know more about this.

But currently I believe Putin doesn't want Nato affiliated countries at border. That's a potential threat to them.

I'm not in his mind, but he clearly doesn't want to have democracies around him. Perhaps he was testing "stuff" with going on war with Ukraine, but his defeat there may have taught him to reconsider his goals. Now that he's completely losing, he could do crazy shits as last resort.

My point is that humankind didn't really change a lot. That anti violence stuff is not accepted by everyone.

Putin also tried to take advantage to win conservatives support by constantly preach in their talking points

In a way, he's trying to present himself as force to save traditional values against Western *degeneracy* .

Nowadays, populations around the globe as a whole want peace. There are fairly nationalistic countries like China, Russia and the US. But their populations as a whole do not seek war.
