In 1993/4 there were a lot of americans and Nato soldiers stationed in the amazon forest waiting for the indigenous native leaders to declare their land independent countries.Brazilian army mobilized and did a military exercise to show force.They backed off.Now it seems they are turning their eyes here again thanks to their lack of food security.Search for operation Surumu.I do't think you will find anything in english about it though...
