General & Others Why there is no such thing as "parallel" in OP

#1
firstly, where does parallel come from?
from a psychological view, people usually fear the unknown, especially in a chaotic world like OP, readers tend to form their formulas, and "parallel" is one of the simplest ways (for normal minds)
secondly, does parallel exist in OP? YES AND NO
-yes because there are some similarities among pirate crews, or even between marine and pirate
-however, there is no such thing as 100% similarities in OP
-for example, they say: Rayleigh is parallel to Zoro in terms of a swordsman, the second member but they forget the fact that they also differ in other aspects such as their personalities, their IQ(Rayleigh is very smart), or Zoro obsesses with swords while Rayleigh does not.
why this is important?
as Zoro and Rayleigh have something similar, some members take advantage of it and create other non-related parallels
such as Zoro must be the second strongest and far more important than the third strongest member in the crew, ignoring the fact that the two crews have a different power hierarchy system

Nobody cares about Sanji, Gaban is a nobody. Get over it. Shanks and Mihawk are canonically reminiscent of Roger and whitebeard, zoro is compared to a legend like ryuma, what does Sanji has exactly? Sora?:saden:

Sora isn't real tho, he's a comic book character that was a marine. :ohreally:

The Roger Pirates didn't have females and okamas so they are stronger even if Luffy and Zoro surpass everyone, that's the difference.
Big Mom was a Yonko and Ivankov said to be stronger than Kuma. Probably the 2nd strongest or 3rd from Revos.

Anyway this has nothing to do with Hierarchy. Do you even know what that word means?

I'm not really interested in the powerscaling shit going on here but usually in One Piece (and in most fiction in general) parallels are used to emphasize a specific point about a character. For example:

- Luffy parallels Roger to show that he's destined to become as great a pirate as Roger was

- Nami parallels Koala to contrast their experiences with fishmen and show how their experiences led them down two very different paths.

- Momo and Yamato parallel both Oden and Kaido to show they're going to create a better Wano than either of their parents did
