I don't mind if Luffy struggles or loses as long as it makes sense. If Imu were to fall from the sky and shit all over him then I would think "yeah that makes sense" but not Rob Lucci man. His time as a genuine threat to the crew has passes.

The next time he loses he’ll probably end up getting stronger. Technically you could say he lost to Kaido but then got back up and turned the match around once he awakened his fruit.

Or he could train for another 2 years, or make it 1 more and become Saitama
