And am I remembering correctly, that Blackbeard 1) has multiple top tier fruits and 2) one of his fruit is able to cancel Luffy's DF, meaning Luffy will have to heavily rely on Haki?

Look at Luffy vs Kaido:

Kaido had the stronger body, stronger Haki, greater experience, etc.

Luffy’s literal only advantage was his Devil Fruit awakening and he still pounded mr Haki transcends all (bronze medalists) into the earth lol.
