Since the war started they're at it again. A few days ago, I overheard a convoy between 2 middle aged women, one of them went on about how she counts the single sheets of the toilet paper rolls to calculate the price. Was incredibly happy that she managed to get her hands on the family pack.
Wow....I thought my family were bad about toilet roll fussing but nothing compared to this!
Way before the pandemic, a sitcom satirising stereotypes of Muslims called Citizen Khan, had the father main characters hoarding a TON of toilet paper, enough to fill an entire utility/boiler room or something!
My grandad is kinda like that too but post COVID it's not so funny anymore ironically.
Making people panic amd scrutinise over basic essentials, starting with toilet paper (and petrol too over here at least not long ago) is just absolutely evil too.
I hate this abuse of artificial scarcity fear mongering. An overwhelmingly depressing amount of people fall for it and go absolutely berserk over it.
