I really feel like it's either Gaban or possibly Fujitora like you said.
Gaban being in hiding and getting hunted after protecting VP would make their worry for him make sense though I think the only Marine that might give him smoke are Admirals like Akainu and Kizaru.
Fujitora also makes a lot of sense for obvious reasons.

We did learn something of this chapter. They're saying they just need to protect the main VP. So that means the others can die...
Are they just clones or literally parts of VP he split himself into? Like if they die are they just copies that will be sad and that's that, or is this going to fragment VP?
