Idk about that, comparing Katakuri to any version of Rayleigh is pretty damn wild

Old Ray had presentation of a solid top tier even in his old age and we can make Kizaru vs Rayleigh thread if you want but there is still no concrete hint for Kizaru's superiority, just the tentative "He was panting and sweating". I place Kizaru above old Rayleigh but gap is a lot smaller than Rayleigh and Katakuri and both will have to go all out.
While old Rayleigh vs Katakuri isn't any closer fight than Zoro vs Pica imo.

I think it comes from fans expectations. It is a pirate manga after all and regardless of great deal of admiral fans here, majority of fans watch it for pirates. And when they see pirates that represent supposedly peak of piracy, they want them to be invincible.
That and also Oda's way of writing combat where majority of fights can be interpreted in multiple ways.

It's just false hype and typical shonen expectation(ie all top tiers are invincible).

Most OP youtubers are hype men. The only care about the power levels and big reveals. It's no coincidence that all of them think yonko dominate admirals while all the analytical channels that talk about OP's story say yonko and admirals are on the same level at the very least.

I just noticed Albino actually made 29 Zoro threads.
