Just two factions of the same size? How would that even work? I've never played a mafia game like this

Though knowing Al games I think the game could be 2 kingdoms which are the Town and each kingdom has a Mafia.

Yeah. Al hosted a Card Mafia game with 4 factions on OJ. Two of the card symbols were Town, 2 Mafia. While the Town could win together, the Mafias couldn‘t.

The Town members knew each other within their factions, though, and we basically cheated by telling each other our top 3 Town reads which were of course the members of our factions and scum didn‘t know what the hell was going on. They had no clue .
