I believe after their final opponents the debate should be very cut and dry and no more excuses can be made for the person who gets the weaker opponent. Obviously there will always be the couple that wont accept it but i believe a majority will
A very reasonable statement until you focus on the word weaker. It's not easy to determine how much stronger a character is compared to another one and even if it was possible, Sanji or Zoro might defeat their opponent quicker, easier or after receiving some kind of nerf or help:smithnie:
What if they fights together?

The debate will never end unless Sanji and Zoro get opponents clearly far apart from each other in the same arc, like Queen and Perospero for example :kayneshrug:
And even if that is the case, it might not last forever

They will never fight together, the stronger opponent in main fighting arcs has always determined who is the strongests or the pecking order in SHs, you can use it as who's stronger or the ranking of SHs, data has pointed again and again to Zoro in the past and I believe it will do the same thing again.

Even in Sanji's own arc there was no feat he did to prove that he was stronger than zoro, he got a bounty raise SOLELY for the fact he is a Vinsmoke and not for what he's did, and on his bounty poster he is referred to as Vinsmoke Sanji. Do I think he was done an injustice here, absolutely, tbh im sick of only watching luffy get the big fights.

If people want to debate after the fact of final opponents they are just shooting for the stars

Conversation between Oda and his editor.

Editor; Oda San, we should differentiate Shanks and his crew from other Yonko during their description.

Oda; why?

Editor; well, Shanks is a fan favorite, and he gets a lot of attention from readers so I feel like we should differentiate him from others to make fans excited, fuel their interest and anticipeitione.

Oda; yeah, I guess you're right. Come up with something, something very unclear or rather confusing that wouldn't mean enithing but would make them look unique and point out from others.

Editor; Oda San, what about if we say that they are the most balanced crew?

Oda; let me think about it, ehem... yeah, it would make! We are not hyping their strength or promising the reader too much, it's something meaningless, I like it.

Editor; what if we go little bid further and say that they made names for themselves?

Oda; yeah, it's fine, I can explain it whiteout breaking the power balance between Yonko, it's explainable so you can add it there.

This conversation isn't real, I made this to show you what happens during chapter creation, discussion between Oda and his editors and how decisions are made etc.

I Can Go Lower
We must not underestimate Oda's details. They are key clues for the story sometimes.
I think we can safely say this is not one of those times, though. The clothing is a false flag - Kin’emon mentioning that they’ll revert if removed or damaged almost guarantees that the outfits won’t last long, nor will they successfully fool higher ranking members of the Beast Pirates. How many horns the members of the alliance are wearing...I know the man is meticulous, but he isn’t a psychopath. I truly don’t see this ever holding any significance in the story; the only place on Earth where it matters is right here in this thread.
