You know there are different schools within the Islam. The Sunni, Schia, Alevism etc.
The teachings and some interpretations of Quran differ from each other.
I don’t know if BleakAsh is a Sunni or Schia but I guess he can better explain what these dudes mean.
I’m a Alevi and we never used such an example. Man and Woman even pray together and are not separated. The equality of man and woman is a religious rule for us. We even say that you can’t become a perfect human being if you don’t tolerate other humans and religions.
I can only speak for my people but I remember that a Sunni friend of mine explained it similar to Bleak.
