Oda is just unable of killing the friends and allies of the Straw Hats, the only time he made an exception was in Marineford and still it was only two persons.
Nah Oda just retconned it. Somewhere along the way he decided jack was no longer the right hand man so he never introduces him as such ever again and it no longer true.
Right Hand Man is so general, like in the introduction of Jack, he was introduced being a right hand man of kaido. Which is later in the story, we find out if he is the 3rd commander of Kaido.
So the meaning of right hand man is little bit confusing, i mean king and queen can be a right hand man too.
yeah that's what i meant, kaido doesn't have someone with special position in his crew like katakuri, benn beckman and marco that can't just be replaced so easly.
it seems his right hand man is Just the 3 calamity that could be filled with anyone, no special first mate treatment
