Historic ties to lands doesn't give you claims for said lands.
If that is so then Mongolia could claim entire world, Germany could claim entire Europe, Croatia could claim Bosnia and parts of Serbia. World doesn't work like that

The Arabs never wanted compromise. They wanted to have all of the land to themselves even though Israel had a rightful claim.
