There’s no narrative reason for Kidd & Law to walk away the victors here and all the reason for the sleeping Yonko to get their ponyglyphs. Luffy is going to need a rival for Laugh Tale and it sure isn’t going to be his former Allies.
This is also the perfect opportunity for Kidd/Law to be temp. written out of the story. Defeated by the Yonko, they can escape and lick their wounds as Luffy becomes PK and return to the story in the final war.

Kid uses mountains of metal in battle. I'm sure he'll either get that from the ships, or he'll just magnetize the surroundings with awakening and use rocks instead.
In any case, the volume of things Kid controls is so great that a mere punch, even one with ACoC, wouldn't be enough to counter it. This is why Big Mom needed to gigantify herself against Kid and Law.
Kid is a stronger, more balanced version of Pica. To beat him you need the AP to blast through his structures. I doubt Shanks has that AP without his swordsmanship, unless he can just blast haki like a DBZ character.
