Aye it is too. Blackbeard is cunning and pragmatic and won't go rushing after people alone stupidly like Ace did to him ironically lol.
Ace should have brought his crew or even some WB pirates, especially his division or something.
WB could have sent help after him too but didn't either, he should have known better since BB killed one of his own men, a commander at that too and he already lost Oden too.
But yeah this might be Oda setting up to show BB and Shanks winning a 1v1 fight onscreen with their opponents OR alternatively Kidd and Law winning a 1v1 especially against a top tier each too.
Knowing Oda, we're gonna have yo wait months at least to find out who won, as it will be offscreened as Law vs BB already is and apparently Kidd vs Shanks is too now.
Gotta milk those shock reveals/twists and suspense!
At least Oda gave us Kidd and Law vs Big Mom onscreen but won't do the same for Law vs BB (except 1 chapter) and Kidd vs Shanks lol.
The people who insist OP still has many years left too, this means Oda could drag this out for years for us too potentially. Egghead is already getting to be a long/fuller arc with around 20+ chapters now I think?

I thought we'd go straight into them post Wano but it's just teases/setup for them much later on instead.

Chapter 1,077: A True Fighter
-The chapter is 25 pages long, longer than your average chapter
-Chapter starts out in Egghead where we have insight on Usopp and the other groups; they are just beginning to fight their Seraphim and they are seemingly doing a well job holding them back
-Usopp is scared as usual…lol :’)
-Luffy, Lucci, Kaku, and Zoro feel a strong presence of haki after beating the Seraphim
-Their section of the chapter ends with the same mysterious force from 1075 rushing towards them
-Cutting to Winner Island, Law and Blackbeard are still fighting
-Law gets some good shots in, but it’s clear he is overpowering him
-Teach reveals his third devil fruit (not saying name, but it is a mythical zoan); he also uses Supreme King haki to kill the Heart Pirates, revealing he has a special type of advanced Conquerors
-The tides are in Blackbeards favor as he uses his strongest attack against Law (not saying names again because it’s related to the third fruit, but this attack will put him above everyone in the One Piece universe)
-We hear the narrator say “In all of his life, he never backed down from the challenge..” as we get snippets of Law’s past and family.-The narrator then goes onto say “Long live the man who took down Big Mom..the man with superb intelligence..the man who seamlessly became friends with Luffy..the man who preferred a plan over his actual life..the man who cared for others…Trafalgar D. Water Law!!” as we see his body in the distance
-The final pages of the chapter reveal that Law transferred the Immortality Surgery to Luffy in Egghead without him realizing it, and Luffy being confused and worried about his new surge of power…”Someone with pure heart must continue on..the Will of D.”
