Big Mom was never called a rival to the World's Strongest Swordsman. That, and the fact that we've seen her full arsenal and it is obvious that her sword is secondary.

Shanks has been directly referenced in relation to Mihawk's title, in addition to being the only person name-dropped as Mihawk's rival. It's not the same. This isn't the "gotcha" argument you think it is.

The only reason Shanks' feats relate to Mihawk is because we're told that Mihawk's swordsmanship is superior. So when Shanks demonstrates swordsmanship, it's natural to wonder how Mihawk would perform with his own sword skills.

It's legit the same as being angry with people comparing Zoro's current level and wondering about Mihawk. You don't see anyone complain about that, right?
