Firstly im not zoro hater or Zoro fanboy or wanker but there is very Very slim chance he kills Kaido, rembember Whitebeard was basically finished by Blackbeard & co who are for sure were Leagues below Whitebeard but they did manage to kill him. How? Whitebeard was battered and lost 90% of hp, what if Kaido be in same state as dying Whitebeard and Zoro kill him? I know its hard to swallow it but there is very slim chance of it(like maybe less than 5% that Oda gona pull it), i wouldnt stop reading One piece or start curse Oda and if done beatifiul i would be okay.
The perfect scenario for it imo is for Zoro to be among the team who are against Kaido with Luffy..
Also, a great way to pull it off instead of Luffy is to repeat the Thriller Bark type of dialog between Luffy/Zoro
Something like, imagine the alliance is still far from taking down Kaido, the team has fallen, only Luffy and Zoro on their last legs, and Kaido still has more to dish out!
Luffy tells Zoro that he'll use EVERYTHING he has, and that he'll probably lose consciousness, he'll leave the rest to Zoro
Luffy just like Moria where he combined Gear3rd And 2nd! And stressed his body beyond imagination.. in the same way, Luffy shows his FINAL form, biggest trump card he has, and deals the heaviest damage on Kaido, to where he makes him very vulnerable for the first time!
Luffy does amaaaaazing shit in the form that no one questions he's the reason for this win!
Then, Zoro follows with this last round when Kaido is very vulnerable, and Zoro takes it on his shoulders as Luffy's right hand man, to shoulder this burden, and execute Kaido at the very end!
