Kidd for me was never a rival on luffy's level. He was a lesser rival. If kidd's story ends here then its bad writing. Why waste so much time on midd in wano and give him a win against BM?

The problem is Kid was never really a true rival. He isn't WB in this comparison. Hell he ain't even Shiki. He is like a bronze medalist.

The question is debatable not because there is any argument for Kidd being a good rival but because there is doubt on whether Kidd was ever an actual rival at all.

Law already had his arc in Dressrosa. Beating BM is tied to Kid’s ambitions as a conqueror, and it has absolutely nothing to do with law.

He is not the worst rival, he never was and never will be one.
He is currently a friend of Luffy who shared the same dream and tried to achieve it.
But I don't think it's possible for a guy that will peak at YC1 level to be a rival for the PK race.
He had an awesome journey though for someone at his level
