Maybe if Oda wants to elevate for good Akainu above other admirals that could be the tool for that. But honestly since I don't see, for now, any (positive) focus on the admirals I will wait for this. Probably if Oda wanted to do that the moment could have been after the punk hazard fight. Or a reveal if a meaningful fights with the SHs will eventually happen.

This would make sense because it exist in real life but I think it would probably be something link to his awakening rather than his base abilities.

I will not be surprise that Oda push some admirals’ power over the top. There a lot of thing to do with Fujitora, Akainu and Kizaru powers.
