None of the Blackbeard pirates have been shown fighting but could just look how Lafitte threatens to kill Pizarro for insubordination, clearly hes not going to be a Nami opponent.

Hell that scene with Shiryu Lafitte and Burgess has quite the resemblance to King Queen and Jack where ones a failure and getting ridiculed by the other two.

Let Nami fight the woman who was neg diffed by boas beauty. Maybe Nami can win if Catarina gets distracted by Namis looks.
Nah, the Bb pirates are one of the few crews who Oda went out of his way to detail individual positions for. For a crew whose top 2 officers deliberately mirror Luffy/Zoro, it’s off the wall to think that Oda isn’t intending to have the Blackbeard Pirates mirror the Strawhats and have the crew fight evil versions of themselves.

Chopper and Docq w/ Stronger
Usopp and Van Auger
Zoro and Shiryu
Teach and Blackbeard

This isn’t a surface level comparison. Oda’s deliberately setting these crews up

Or he’s just writing the comparisons that’ll directly impact their opponents dreams?

Chopper fighting someone who can control illnesses - His dream being to find a cure for all diseases.

Zoro fighting a swordsman - His dream being to become the WSS

Usopp fighting a fellow sniper - His dream is to become a brave warrior of the sea.

At this point it definitely doesn’t make sense as none of the BB pirates have these roles anymore as they’re all captains of their own ship instead.

Yup. And Oda goes on to further detail the roles for the crew, something he’s never done for any other opposing crew. Oda is putting direct opposition in front of the characters in the form of people who have very similar roles or resemblances to them.

It’s the Sanji Blackbeard matchup that makes by far the most sense to me.

I find all the other connections people make for him tenuous, whether it’s to Lafitte, Burgess, Shot.

If there isn’t a Blackbeard cook- and there doesn’t seem to be one- then North Blue royalty is a concrete connection between the two, especially given that it’s been so focused on for Sanji in the last few years.

He hasn’t tho? Most of these were just vivre card. None of it has been remotely shown in the manga. Nor has it been mentioned.

Lafitte doesn’t even wear a log pose nor has anyone mentioned him being a navigator.

He had a double spread giving them roles back in Jaya and added La Feet’s role in film red’s promo info and in another DB.

Oda is deliberately giving them roles, has set 4 of them to be opposites of 4 of the crew members (undisputed) and the argument can be there for Nami/Jinbe as well.

Lafitte wasn’t there. And again it was just vivre card crap.

Show me one panel where Lafitte looks like the crews navigator? Cause that role has not been an important or even mentioned part of his character in the manga.

Shyriu has to be the most boring match up lol, a swordsman with invisibility powers. I wonder how Oda is going to handle that Zoro fight

Not to mention Sanji has fought an invisible dude pre-ts, and a invisible dude post-ts
Lets be honest, the invisible guys Sanji fought were objectively bozo's

Absalom was a pervert goofball
Queen was just plain retarded

Shiryu is a dangerous bloodthirsty Ex-Warden with a Invisibility, Bloodlust, and a Blade
They don't compare nor compete

And yet Oda went through enough to have it listed in the DBs, has made an effort to give all the pre impel down characters a role in the ship and have them mirror the straw hats.

The fact he went to rescue Burgess with Shyriu could mean he is the navigator tho

Althought it's a fact that taking Vivre Card shit so seriously isn't the best thing to do, especially such old info

Pizarro is a weakling. Probably already had his DF in Impeldown, because he already had the feline eyes. Meaning, BB couldn't power him up more by finding him a great DF. Chopper's next power up will be awakening. He will fight the other awakened Zoan. Also Pizarro 's animal will probably be one that preys on deer, like lion or snow leopard.
