It would seem as though law and kidds only purpose will be to fight fleets of fodder marines helping luffys grandfleet when the final war hits. There is 0 coming back from kidd. He is not in the running anymore, some of his crew members may be dead, his crew gave up his poneglyphs which in extension shows a lack of fate in him (kidd).
So him coming back serves 0 purpose that to be a helper for luffy in the Kong run.
Sadly law is in the same situation. But what's worse is that law has a serrated goal that he doesn't necessarily need to be the king of pirates or to gain the onepiece on order to relieve and that's the history of the D. Since oda has law as a favorite of his peers kidd law will not get done in as badly as kidd however law will not be a contestant for the onepiece.
