Long story short the same way kidds human flesh of a body has a magnetic field that only attracts or repels metal is the same field he applies to another living thing with his awakening.

Every single example of bigmom being attracted to anything was metal since she now carries the same magnetic mally force field to metal that kidd has except kidd still has control over the magnetic field around her. His magnetic powers in base and in awakening only affects two things: living things (kidd himself in base or another living that he assigns magnetic properties too and metal itself).
