Blackbeard is actually extremely lucky that he encountered Law of all the Supernova. Law is factually the weakest and least dangerous of the three captains, making up for it by being the most tricky. Kid has the most raw power and is a literal loose cannon.
Blackbeard would have absolutely no answer for Damned Punk spam: His ship and crewmen would be utterly destroyed and absorbing the attack is meaningless as he still takes damage and feels the impact, not even the likes of Big Mom could handle such force.
The damage that Shanks foresaw spooked him so much he was forced to act before Eustass could even fire his attack. There is nothing Blackbeard could do to prevent this destruction, he isn’t fast enough to see through it either.
