Manipulating ambient energy has 3 functions so far,
First is expelling positive ambient energy to collide with negative ambient energy making a divergence in the time and space allowing no touching attacks (Blowing Balloon) It can also be done in reverse meaning the user will expel negative ambient energy to collide with positive ambient energy allowing (Pushing Cushion) attacks.

2nd use is shown when users are using or following ambient energy to locate people.
Example of this is Sanji sniffing women. And Law sniffing Nico Robin.

This allows the user to use Coa Koka + flow + demonic/divine energy
Example is Shanks and Roger using divine departure and Zoro king of hell attacks.
