There were dozens of theories and foreshadowings of it happening and narrative wise it would have made sense. Everyone who says that it was idiotic is ignorant of these facts.

Not the ZKKtards took an L but Oda instead for not fulfilling the foreshadowings of ZKK. He lost track of his own method of revealing stuff. Maybe it was too obvious for ZKK since every 2nd zoro fan was talking about it.

However ZKK was from 2019 to 2022. The era ended with a loss for the ZKK fans. Everyone who is nitpicking on these people is insecure of life and needs therapy. Just live on already, get some help. ZKK fans already moved on and yet you guys still live in the past which is cringe af.

Pre Devil Fruit. His Douriki could have surpassed Lucci after eating Giraffe DF. Kaku feat of cutting building in half is greater than anything Lucci showed.

IMO, it could have been worked with Zoro wanting to teach Luffy that he needs to be a little more ruthless in the New World.
Say Luffy defeats Kaido, but the latter comes back, again and again, aided by the zoan regen. With each return, Luffy puts him to rest. Again and again. But Kaido is a feral beast, worthy of his title. Even if Luffy can overpower him, Kaido still has rage to take out on the land around him, on the Wano people themselves. And while Luffy is able to defeat him a few of times, the exhaustion (coupled with G5's drawback) is getting to him. But Luffy isn't one to kill, it goes against his philosophy. Which is where Zoro steps in. Rather than letting Kaido rampage, he goes for the mercy kill.
