Basically:
- Oda wanted to defeat most of the Supernova to establish Yonko strength in the new World.
- Thought Kid would be one of the few that survive.
- Law became too popular.
So you can put 2 and 2 together and figure out Oda switched direction to favor Law.
Both had potential to be great characters. Law's developed into one imo. Kid's in a massive setback position right now. He'd need a lot of work to get back to pre Onigashima level for me. He used to be one of my favorites.
