I think I can speak for everyone when I say Kid's mechs are lame. They seem somewhat strong, made Kaido scream, tanked ikoku, and his bull even made BM bleed. But all in all its a mid fighting style and his fight with Shanks basically exposed this fact.
I think the reason why Oda gave Kid this style was, among other things, his style wasn't supposed to be that powerful. As we know, Kid is Luffy's failed rival. Him having a really strong fighting style would go against the point of his character... to be a failure.
That being said by the EoS, it won't really matter because both Luffy and Zoro will be so astronomically far ahead of him, that even if he gained some advanced haki and a good fighting style, he still wouldn't be able to get close to them. So I'm guessing that's what will happen. His loss to Shanks will be his sabaody moment, he will go away, train haki, and then come back in the final war to fight a seraphim or maybe Kong.
I think by EoS he will get ryuo. Maybe ACoC, but honestly, I don't even expect that much from him. Anyways, I think training ryuo will change his fighting style for the better. Rather than relying on big, cumbersome, and weak mechs, he'll use a few moderately sized magnet weapons he created which he will imbue with ACoA. Specifically, I think Oda will give him a variation of the traditional gun and saber pirate fighting style. Except instead of a saber, Kid would use a buster sword, which he would easily be able to throw around via magnetism, and instead of a gun, he would use a modified version of damned punk that doesn't take forever to charge up. Ultimately, these weapons would allow Kid to fuse ACoA and his magnetic powers into a fighting style that would allow him to actually be worth 3 billion berries in strength.
I think Oda will have him use this fighting style likely against the seraphim in the final war, who by then might be aged up to be teenagers rather than young kids. I'm guessing he will fight either Crocodile or Moria's seraphim while Law fights Doffy's.
