Why is Mihawk such a pussy who refuses to fight anyone?

I'll give a fuller answer later, I'm out of time right now, but understand. Mihawk and Shanks were rivals, the two strived to be in front, until the moment Shanks preferred to save Luffy than to keep the search for power. At that moment Mihawk understood that Shanks didn't treat things the same way he did, he was betrayed, and that's why MIhawk never fought Shanks again. Why doesn't he fight with the others? Because they aren't people who only care about power either, they want to be the Pirate King, they want other things, Mihawk just wants to be the strongest and there is currently no one with the same ambition and strength that threatens to take the title away from him.
