He just named people he has no interest in.

He told Shanks that he won't fight him anymore since he is crippled and there is no reason for him to fight BB or Luffy.

Because they know deep down a chapter will soon come for their "but Vista fight and stopped by Jozu" asses and are panicking as a result. Mihawk already has a higher bounty than his leader and in the 3 billions. His swordsmanship has been stated to be greater than Shanks's (as if WSS didn't give that away). You know they're on full copedown when they're resulting to "hakiman." Heck, Erkan is coping with "marine hunter" for his abnormal bounty despite it being stated on panel it's for being the WSS.

Roger asked Oden to join his crew, that the only reason he knelt.

Kneeling to WB didn't change his power suddenly. We have it on narration that Whitebeard is Roger's equal, its useless to argue against the narration of the story when thats as objective as it gets in statements.
