You guys try so hard lmao

Being pushed around and saying Argh, but then the second after coming out of the smoke literaly laughing it off and not even huffing or anything, is not the same lol
Queen was saying argh and screaming in pain every time Sanji hit him even with basic DJ doesn't mean he was getting huge damage.

After the Manga Combo Queen was already done, Beef Burst finished the job

After the Anime Combo, Queen laughs it off, no sweet, no blood, nothing and keeps on talking shit to Sanji,

You can't possible seriously thing this is the same...

Its just the lack of blood and scratches. Toei is fumbling with that in this arc

If they made Queen get up heavily damaged and bleeding through his mouth and stuff, like in the manga, i think it would be perfect. Still, in the anime, Queen is actually praising the attack while trying to piss Sanji off with the Germa stuff, something he never did before.

Oh lmao. Just realized it.

Sanji's left leg (no IJ) is positioned in the air to kick Queen downwards. While his right leg (IJ) for some reason is just there? It's kinda weird but it hypes up Sanji's base kick nonetheless

All it was left was blood on Queen tbh, aside from his reactions of pain that were done well, but as i said above, Toei is not doing good job at portraying damage in any of the fights in this arc.

At least they hyped up Grill Shot tho, which reinforces quite well the "internal damage" aspect of Sanji's attacks

Also, the lightning is there, but its subtle, but you can see it, especially in impact frames.

On the topic of Ifrit tho~legit question what does Ifrit Jambe give Sanji that Diable Jambe doesn't?
Coz as opposed to something like Sanji v Jyabura for instance, it doesn't seem like the heat from Ifrit was the main decider of the Queen fight. In the manga there is an explosion from Beouf Burst so it felt like a significant AP boost but Anime kinda muddies this a bit.

*Also tbf Queen was charred from the Beouf Burst in the manga, so the heat was somewhat emphasized but I think the power of the hit was what ultimately took him out. What do y'all think? Also will be interesting to hear an Anime-only watcher's perspective on this.

Yeah, Sanji's DJ heat is what ultimately beats Jabra.

DJ animation was well animated and highlighted the intense heat.

While Sanji's IJ is more of a "Hits harder" type thing.

And in the manga, Queen got more burns than the anime does.

At least in the anime, once Sanji activated Ifrit Jambe, Queen simply got owned and couldn't compete

In the manga, it looked like Ifrit Jambe wasn't even needed

But at the same time, they hyped Diable Jambe quite well in this episode, especially through the Grill Shot scene. So i think it's all balanced

Making Queen bleed properly with the Ifrit Jambe combo would solve all this imo (i mean, thats how anime portrays damage for the most part)

Anyway, Sanji right now is looking insane even without Diable Jambe. Oda wont sleep on Ifrit Jambe

I don't think it's a hits harder type of ting, I mean how do you rationalize it? Plus Sanji's buffs are not just the hotter flame, Sanji's base stats all get a significant bump in base so he hits harder in exo-mode, so technically even without Ifrit Sanji hits much harder in Exo-mode.
The way I'd rationalize it using the manga panels is that Sanji's heat was hot enough to produce plasma which causes the explosion from Beouf Burst, which I thought was the main AP advantage of Ifrit save that it is a hotter flame.

It kinda reminds of when Shanks 0.5 shotting Kidd, people thoughts that the explosion was from Shanks's CoC attack.

As for comparison, Sanji using IJ is like Shanks using Divine Departure then the explosion afterwards is their attack aftereffects.

But I think it's just Kidd's Railgun exploding when Shanks struck him.

As for Sanji's IJ, the explosion happens after Sanji struck Queen with IJ so it's probably AP + explosive aftereffect.

Also, i liked they managed to create a gap between Boeuf Burst from all the IJ regular kicks.

It's like Sanji's Ifrit Jambe regular kicks he used in the combo didn't even came close to the actual named attacks, such as Boeuf Burst (personally that has always been a thing for me and most people i guess)

At the end of the day this ends in Queen gas and Sanji gas anyway, can't wait for Sanji to shit on Lunarian durability flames "on" :funky:
