Wait, Big Mom was the strongest sword user in Kaido's side in Wano and Zoro did not beat her. Let's not get too far ahead here. Luffy's peers take precedence over Luffy's crew, so Law vs the Strongest Holy Knight is possible.

Soot is essentially solid particles left behind after combustion, while Smoke is gas. Karasu has also displayed better mobility than Smoker ever did.

Plus, who knows what else he has in store? Poisoning using Soot? Yea his fruit is folding Smoker's lol.

Yea Karasu Soot should be able to "corrupt" Smoker's smoke as if Akainu's Magu consumed fire.
